Playing Piano at Berryhill Downtown

The offer to play at Berryhill restaurant downtown is still available and ongoing. The idea is that Ken Harris has a open invitation to pianists to go and play the piano at the restaurant on Saturday's from 12-3, one person per 30 minutes. But it is not required to play for 30 minutes, so the playing time can be as short as just a few pieces. A tip jar is provided, and a free meal for the one playing. The performer gets to earn a little cash, if people put a tip in the jar! There is a little catch; at least one parent needs to buy a meal.

Here is how it would work for our students: they can play all their favorite pieces, starting with the most recent and working backward through their repertoire as far as they would like, not exceeding 30 minutes. It is just that simple. And they can do the same thing each time, or pick new pieces that they know for each time. It is up to them. I do want them to know the pieces very well, as this is not a time to practice, but to perform.

This is a fun opportunity. And you will enjoy the food, too.

I am happy to set these up each Saturday. Just let me know what Saturday works for your family each month, and I will coordinate the time with Berryhill. And I might be able to make the performances, depending.

Thank you! Call with any questions.

Steve
